Branch of Fluid Mechanics related to measuring, studying and modelling stationary interactions between non-moving fluids
It splits in Aerodstatics studying the motion of gases and Hydrostatics studying the motion of liquids.
Both terms are misnomers as they cover wider range of gases and liquids apart from air and water.
