A mechanical wave that propagates within the Continuum body.
There are two major types of body waves:
| Primary body wave (p-wave) | Secondary body wave (s-wave) |

| Strain oscillations are along the direction of wave propagation | Strain oscillations are transverse to direction of wave propagation |
