Dead oil  viscosity at  atmospheric pressure: p = 1 atm and initial formation temperature:

(1) \mu_{od} = \mu_o(p = 1 atm, T_i)

where

p = 1 \ \rm atm

Although the dead oil may be found in petroleum reservoir under substantial pressure  but in reservoir engineering practice the term "dead oil viscosity" usually means live oil which has been brought to atmospheric pressure until full liberation of gaseous components.
