(1) \frac{\partial \rho}{\partial t} + \nabla (\rho \, {\bf u}) = 0


For stationary fluid flow:

(2) \frac{\partial \rho}{\partial t} = 0 \rightarrow \nabla (\rho \, {\bf u}) = 0
