Synonym: 123 Material property = Intensive physical property
A physical property of the material that does not depend on the the amount of the material chemical substance and the way it is measured.
It is only defined by the material's chemical structure and/or its Pressurepressure and Temperaturetemperature under Thermalthermal or Quasistaticquasistatic equilibrium.
The material properties are usually measured at laboratories and are well tabulated within the practical range of Pressure pressure and Temperaturetemperature.
Any function of quantifiable material property is also a material property.
Some material properties are just a number numbers (like critical temperature
or critical pressure LaTeX Math Inline body T_c
) and some are functions of of pressure and temperature and pressure (like density LaTeX Math Inline body p_c
or viscosity LaTeX Math Inline body \rho(T, p)
). LaTeX Math Inline body \mu(T, p)
