Ratio of the variation of the field-average formation pressure in producers to the total field  cumulative water injection  Q_{WI} for the same time period T:

(1) {\rm PIR}(T) = \frac{ \left<p_e(t=T) \right>-\left<p_e(t=0)\right>}{Q_{WI}(t=T) - Q_{WI}(t=0) }


It measures how efficiently waterflood supports the formation pressure in producers and represents one of the key Waterflood Diagnostics.
