Ratio of the variation of the field-average formation pressure in producers to the total field cumulative water injection $\begin{array}{l}Q_{WI}\end{array}$ for the same time period $\begin{array}{l}T\end{array}$ :

(1)	$\begin{array}{l}\displaystyle {\rm PIR}(T) = \frac{ \left< p_e(t=T) \right>-\left< p_e(t=0)\right>}{Q_{WI}(t=T) - Q_{WI}(t=0) }\end{array}$

It measures how efficiently waterflood supports the formation pressure in producers and represents one of the key Waterflood Diagnostics.
