Percentage of recoverable hydrocarbon reserves recovered:

(1) \rm DF = \frac{V_{recovered \ reserves}}{V_{recoverable \ reserves}}


It always ranges  0 \leq {\rm DF} \leq 100 \% and is related to Recovery Factor (RF) as:

(2) \rm DF = \frac{RF}{EUR}

where EUR is Estimated Ultimate Recovery.


The Depletion Factor concept splits naturally into two categories:
