Specific type of Lift mechanism where bottom-hole pressure is reduced artificially by the light fluid column in the tubing due to gas injection into the lifting up fluid column.


In AGL, the true reservoir Gas production rate is calculated as the difference between total measured produced gas rate  q^{\uparrow}_{GT} and Gas lift rate  q^{\downarrow}_{GL} which has been injected into annulus to support the fluid lift in the tubing:

(1) q^{\uparrow}_{G} = q^{\uparrow}_{GT} - q^{\downarrow}_{GL}
