A formal number characterizing the size of a drainage area $\begin{array}{l}A_e\end{array}$ :

(1)	$\begin{array}{l}\displaystyle r_e = \sqrt{\frac{A_e}{\pi}}\end{array}$

In case of circular drainage area the $\begin{array}{l}r_e\end{array}$ takes a physical sense of a distance from well to the drainage area boundary.
