The pressure control is usual for water and gas injection wells which and specified by the THP.

In this case a reservoir takes as much fluid as it can depending on quality of well-reservoir contact and reservoir capacity and reservoir transmissibility around a given injector.

Sometimes the pressure control becomes effective in producing wells when the bottomhole pressure has ben reduced to its minimal value, specified by the pump location.
