Type of rock that is formed by the deposition and subsequent cementation of sediments (eroded fragmented rocks
or precipitation of dissolved material) on the floor of oceans or other bodies of water at the 
Earth's surface.


Sedimentary rocks are quite common, covering about 75% of the surface of the earth.



They normally split into two categories:

Clastic Sedimentary Rock

Carbonate Sedimentary Rock
