One of the two main types of elastic body waves, called seismic waves in seismology (see pType of elastic wave propagating through the solid body (see s-wave @ Wikipedia).
Ps-waves can propagate through gases, liquids or through solids only and move faster than other body wavesslower than p-wave, hence the term "seconday wave".
